# Messages and calls between colleagues

Message and call your colleagues without leaving Callizy.

- At least one colleague on your team.
- On iPhone: the Team plan.

## Step by step

7 steps, about 2 min.

### 1. Find your colleagues (10 s)

In the left sidebar, under **Colleagues**: each one with a dot. Green: available. Orange: already on the phone. Gray: offline or on Do not disturb.

### 2. Message them (20 s)

Click their name: your thread with them opens in the **Inbox**. Type your message, then **Send**. “Read” shows once they’ve read it.

### 3. Attach a file (10 s)

The paper clip, **Attach a file**: a photo, a PDF or an audio file up to 5 MB, a video up to 75 MB.

### 4. Call them (10 s)

At the top of the thread, click **Call**: it rings in Callizy. The button is grayed out when they’re offline or on Do not disturb.

### 5. Find the call again (10 s)

The thread keeps a trace: “Internal call”, with its length, or “Missed internal call”.

### 6. Get notified (10 s)

A colleague messages you: “sent you a message” shows with their name, and under **Colleagues**, the number of unread messages.

### 7. On iPhone (20 s)

With the Team plan, **Team** tab: your colleagues and their status. Tap one to message or call them. Notifications are set with **Messages from colleagues**.

## Key points

- One thread per colleague: there are no groups.
- These messages stay between the two of you: your customers never see them.
- To discuss a customer with the team, use **Comment for the team**, under their conversation (Team plan).

## Not working?

### You don’t see “Colleagues”

1. The section shows up as soon as another member is on the team: see [Invite your team and create ring groups](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/inviter-equipe).

### The Call button is grayed out

1. Your colleague is offline or on Do not disturb: message them instead.

### Callizy says “File too large”

1. 5 MB max for a photo, a PDF or an audio file; 75 MB for a video.

### Callizy shows “This file type can’t be attached”

1. Attach an image, a PDF, an audio file or a video.

### Callizy shows “The message was not sent”

1. Check your Internet connection, then send it again.

### Nothing in the Android app

1. The Android app doesn’t have messages between colleagues: use the web or the Mac app.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I message several colleagues at once?

No: one thread per person. For the whole team, use the discussion under a customer conversation: see [Work together on a conversation](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/travailler-a-plusieurs).

### Are my calls with a colleague recorded?

Only if your manager chose it: **Settings**, **Team management**, **Record calls between colleagues**.

### Can I hand a customer over to a colleague?

Yes, during the call: see [Transfer a call](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/transferer-un-appel).
