## Before you start

- Your account and your Callizy number: see [Create your account and choose your number](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/creer-son-compte).
- The address where you work, for 911.
- Your phone, to install the app and run the test.

## Step by step

7 steps, about 4 min.

Screenshots show Callizy in French. Button names are given in English.

### 1. Choose your customers’ language (20 s)

**Your main language** is the one your customers hear. With **Français**, the greeting switches to French; the screen itself stays in English. Then **Continue**.

![The setup screen “Your main language”, shown in French and English: “Français” is checked, “English” is not, with the “Back” and “Continue” buttons.](https://callizy.ca/images/apprendre/guides/mettre-en-service-1.webp)

### 2. Decide who answers (30 s)

The screen recommends the **AI receptionist**. To start simply, choose **Voicemail**: your customers leave a message, and you get it in your inbox and by email. You will connect the receptionist later.

![The setup step for who handles missed calls: two cards, “AI receptionist” marked “Recommended” and “Voicemail”, selected here, then the “Continue” button.](https://callizy.ca/images/apprendre/guides/mettre-en-service-2.webp)

### 3. Keep your call options (20 s)

Three options are already on: **Record calls**, **Summary of every call** and **Transcribe voicemails**. The summary comes from the recording: turn off recording, and the summary turns off too.

![The "Your call options" setup step: "Record calls", "Summary of every call" and "Transcribe voicemails" are all turned on.](https://callizy.ca/images/apprendre/guides/mettre-en-service-3.webp)

### 4. Register your 911 address (1 min)

This is the address emergency services receive when you dial 911 from this number. Type the address where you work and choose it from the list: the city, province and postal code fill in. Click **Save**.

![The “Your 911 address” screen: address, city, province and postal code filled with a sample address, the “I have read and accept the 911 information” box unchecked, “Continue” greyed out.](https://callizy.ca/images/apprendre/guides/mettre-en-service-4.webp)

### 5. Accept the 911 information (30 s)

The **Learn more about 911** link is a reminder: without Internet or power, 911 may not work. Keep a cell phone for emergencies. Check **I have read and accept the 911 information**, then **Continue**.

![The “Your 911 address” screen: a registered address, the “I have read and accept the 911 information” box checked, and the “Continue” button.](https://callizy.ca/images/apprendre/guides/mettre-en-service-5.webp)

### 6. Invite the team and install the app (1 min)

**Invite your team**: enter your colleagues’ emails, separated by commas, then **Send invitations**, or **Skip for now**. On the next screen, scan the code with your phone to install the app, then click **Go to Callizy**.

![The "Callizy wherever you are" step: the App Store, Google Play and "Download for Mac" buttons, a QR code to scan with your phone, and "Go to Callizy".](https://callizy.ca/images/apprendre/guides/mettre-en-service-6.webp)

### 7. Run the test (1 min)

You land on your inbox. Call your Callizy number from your cell phone and let it ring: nobody picks up, and you hear your voicemail.

## Key points

- Emergency services receive the registered address, not the place where you are. Moving offices? Change it in Numbers: each number has its own.
- The summary of each call comes from the recording: no recording, no summary.
- You can connect the AI receptionist later, without redoing the setup.

## Not working?

### “Continue” stays greyed out at the 911 step

1. Click **Save** under the address: the “Registered address” card appears.
2. Check **I have read and accept the 911 information**.

### “Save” stays greyed out

1. Fill in the address, city, province and postal code, in the A1A 1A1 format.

### Callizy shows “Could not load suggestions.”

1. Check your connection, then type the address again.
2. Otherwise, fill in the city, province and postal code yourself.

### You are in neither Canada nor the United States

1. Click **I’m not in Canada or the United States**: there is no 911 address to register.

## Frequently asked questions

### My customers speak French and English: which language should I choose?

The one most of your customers speak. The AI receptionist, for its part, can answer in both languages: see [Create and test your AI receptionist](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/creer-sa-receptionniste).

### Can I change these choices later?

Yes. Who answers and the 911 address are changed in **Numbers**, on the number’s page.

### Do I need to invite the team right away?

No. Invite your colleagues whenever you want, from Settings › Team management: see [Invite your team](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/inviter-equipe).

## Video transcript

Setting up Callizy. In two minutes. Here's the result: your number answers. Your whole team rings at the same time; if nobody picks up, callers leave a message. And your 911 address is registered. To get there, you need the address where you work, and your phone. One question per screen, and a choice is already selected for you. First, your main language: the one your callers hear. “English”, and the greeting switches to English. The screen stays in French. Here, “Français”. “Continue”. Who answers when you can't? The screen recommends the “AI receptionist”: it has its own video. To keep it simple for now, choose “Voicemail”: you'll plug in the receptionist later. If nobody picks up, callers leave a message, and you get it in your inbox and by email. “Continue”. Your call options, already on. “Record calls”. “Summary of every call”: AI notes the key points. The summary comes from the recording: turn recording off, and it goes off too. Turn it back on. And “Transcribe voicemails”. “Continue”. Your 911 address: the one emergency services receive when you dial 911 from this number. Type the address where you work, and pick it: city, province and postal code fill in. “Save”. Open “Learn more about 911”: without internet or power, 911 may not work. Keep a mobile phone for emergencies. Come back, and check the box. Remember one rule. Emergency services receive the registered address, not where you are. Moving offices? Change it in Callizy, under Numbers. Each number has its own. “Continue”: Callizy registers the address for your number. Invite your team: their emails go here, separated by commas. That's the “Invite your team” video; here, “Continue”. Callizy wherever you are: scan this code with your phone, and install the app. The apps have their own video too. “Go to Callizy”. Here you are in Callizy, in your “Inbox”. One last step: call your number from your mobile, and let it ring. Nobody picks up? You hear your voicemail. Callizy, the phone that answers when you can't.
