# “Tab inactive”: take back the phone

Only one tab controls the phone; here is how to take it back.

- Role: Everyone
- Duration: 1 min
- On: Web, Mac
- Learning Centre: https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/onglet-inactif
- Open this screen in Callizy: https://app.callizy.ca/en/dashboard

## Before you start

- Callizy open in your browser.

## Step by step

5 steps, about 1 min.

Screenshots show Callizy in French. Button names are given in English.

### 1. Understand the rule (10 s)

The phone lives in only one Callizy tab at a time: the last one opened. The others show **Tab inactive**; they no longer ring or call.

### 2. Take the phone back here (10 s)

In the tab where you want to work, click **Resume here**. The page reloads and takes the phone; the other tab becomes inactive in turn.

### 3. Close the extra tabs (10 s)

Keep a single Callizy tab. Careful: closing the active tab doesn’t wake up the others. In the one left, click **Resume here**.

### 4. During a call (10 s)

A call in progress keeps the phone in its tab. The new tab shows “A call is in progress in another tab”: go back to the call, or click **Resume here** once the call has ended.

### 5. And on the phone? (10 s)

The rule only covers browser tabs. The iPhone or Android app isn’t affected: it rings too.

## Key points

- A single Callizy tab runs the phone: the last one opened.
- An inactive tab doesn’t ring or call.
- A call in progress never changes tabs.

## Not working?

### Callizy shows “Tab inactive”

## Frequently asked questions

### Why only one tab?

So a call rings in only one place in your browser, and only one tab answers it.

### Do I lose anything with “Resume here”?

No: the page reloads and you stay signed in.
