# Power Dialer and the National DNCL

Permitted calling hours and the National Do Not Call List.

- Role: Manager
- Business plan
- Duration: 4 min
- On: Web, Mac
- Learning Centre: https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/power-dialer-lnnte

## Before you start

- The Business plan. During the trial, everything is open.
- Know what the law asks of you. Callizy gives no legal advice: the National Do Not Call List (DNCL) and telemarketing rules fall under the CRTC.

## Step by step

4 steps, about 4 min.

Screenshots show Callizy in French. Button names are given in English.

### 1. Clean your list before importing (2 min)

Callizy doesn’t check the National DNCL. Remove the numbers not to call from your file yourself, before you import it.

### 2. Import the list (1 min)

In **Power Dialer**, click **New campaign**. At the **Prospects** step, click **Import prospects (CSV)**. **Download a template** gives the columns: phone, required, then first_name, last_name, company, position and email. The details: [Prepare a Power Dialer campaign](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/preparer-campagne-pd).

Menu: Administration › Power Dialer › New campaign

### 3. Call at the hours you choose (10 s)

Callizy blocks no hours. A call only goes out when an agent clicks **Call**. Plan your calling sessions yourself.

### 4. Log every refusal (20 s)

After the call, pick the disposition. The default ones are in French, for example **Pas intéressé**, not interested, or **Faux numéro**, wrong number. The Power Dialer doesn’t block a marked number: don’t call it again, and remove it from your next lists.

## Key points

- Callizy doesn’t check the National DNCL and doesn’t limit calling hours.
- The Power Dialer only calls when an agent clicks **Call**.
- The same number can be imported into another campaign: your lists are what count.

## Not working?

### The Power Dialer shows the “Included in Business” badge

1. The Power Dialer needs the Business plan: see [Manage your subscription and invoices](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/abonnement-factures).

### Prospects are skipped on import

1. Each row needs a number in the phone column.
2. A number already in the campaign is skipped.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Callizy check the National DNCL?

No. There is no automatic check. Do it before you import your lists. The DNCL falls under the CRTC.

### Which number do the people called see?

A Power Dialer number of your business. Callizy picks it by local presence or by rotation: see [Call with the Power Dialer](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/appeler-power-dialer).

### What about voicemail?

Callizy doesn’t detect answering machines. Your agent can drop a pre-recorded message with **VM Drop**.

### Are the calls recorded?

Only if outbound recording is on for the number used. No notice plays to the person called: tell them yourself. See [Record calls in line with Quebec’s Law 25](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/loi-25-enregistrement).
