## Before you start

- Be a manager on the Callizy account.
- A Callizy number: see [Buy a local or toll-free number](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/acheter-un-numero).
- To ring a specific group, or the team in a flow: the Team plan.

## Step by step

5 steps, about 3 min.

Screenshots show Callizy in French. Button names are given in English.

### 1. Open your number (10 s)

In **Numbers**, click your line. Its page opens on the **Answering** tab.

Menu: Administration › Numbers › your number

![The Callizy "Numbers" screen: a single number, marked "Included", of type "Main", and this number is highlighted to open it.](https://callizy.ca/images/apprendre/guides/qui-repond-1.webp)

### 2. Read the call path (30 s)

**Who answers** describes the path of an incoming call, in plain words. At first: **Everyone, at the same time**. Everyone who is online rings together; if nobody picks up, the caller leaves a message.

![A number’s “Answering” tab: under “Who answers”, an “Incoming call” goes to “Everyone, at the same time”, with the “Change flow” and “Create custom flow” buttons.](https://callizy.ca/images/apprendre/guides/qui-repond-2.webp)

### 3. Change the path (1 min)

**Change flow** opens **Choose an IVR flow**: select a flow that is already set up, then **Assign**. **Create custom flow** opens the editor: a menu, a message, the time of day that routes the call. See [Create your first call flow](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/premier-flux).

### 4. Or let the AI receptionist answer (1 min)

In **AI voice agents**, click **Connect** on the agent's card: it answers **Always**, **Outside opening hours** or **When nobody answers**. See [Create and test your AI receptionist](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/creer-sa-receptionniste).

![The agent setup window: the “Outside opening hours” option is selected, with a number chosen under “On which number?” and the “Set up” button below.](https://callizy.ca/images/apprendre/guides/creer-sa-receptionniste-5.webp)

### 5. Test (1 min)

Read **Who answers** again: it sums up the new path. Then call your number and listen.

## Key points

- “Who answers” always shows the real path of the call: read it again after each change.
- A specific group, or the team in a flow: Team plan.
- The business hours, just below, decide when the team rings.

## Not working?

### Callizy shows “No IVR flow yet. Create one from the flow editor.”

1. You don't have a flow yet: click **Create custom flow** instead.

### Nobody rings

1. Check the business hours, just below **Who answers**.
2. Check that your colleagues are online in the app, and not on “Do not disturb”.

## Frequently asked questions

### Change flow or Create custom flow?

**Change flow** connects a ready-made flow to this number. **Create custom flow** builds a new one, block by block.

### How do I ring only part of the team?

Create a team in Settings › Team management, then send the call to it with the **Route to team** block of a flow (Team plan). See [Invite your team](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/inviter-equipe).

### Can the AI receptionist answer every call?

Yes: connect it on **Always**. It can also answer only when you are closed, or when nobody picks up.

## Video transcript

Your business hours, and who answers. In two minutes. Here's the result: on your number, who answers, and when you're open. Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To get there, you need your Callizy number, set up. To start, “Numbers”. Choose your line. You're on the “Answering” tab. Under “Who answers”, the path of a call, in plain words. Here: “Everyone, at the same time”. Everyone who is online rings together. Nobody picks up? The caller leaves a message. For now, everyone is you. To change it, two buttons. “Change flow”: you plug in a flow that's already built. “Create custom flow”: a menu, a message, the time of day routing the call. That's the video “Your first call flow”. A specific group, or the team in a flow: Team plan. And the AI receptionist can answer for you: all the time, after hours, or when nobody picks up. That's the next video. Below, the “Business hours”: always open, like the company. Click “Edit for the company”. Three choices: “Always open”, “Always closed”, or day by day: “Custom hours”. Close the weekend: Saturday, Sunday. Opening at 8 a.m. Monday. Tuesday. Wednesday. Thursday. Friday. Closing, 5 p.m., is already set. “Save”. Back to “Numbers”, your line: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The number “Follows the company hours.” And at night? Your agents stop ringing, unless their personal schedule says otherwise. A manager who is online, like you, still rings. Otherwise, the caller leaves a message. With a flow, its “Business hours” block decides: without it, your hours change nothing. Should a number follow other hours? Turn on “Own hours for this number”. It starts from the company hours; adjust day by day. Here, we keep the company hours: turn it off. Remember one rule. Hours are set once, for the company. All your numbers follow them, except one that has its own. One last step: call your number and listen. Let it ring: with no answer, your voicemail takes the message. Callizy, the phone that answers when you can't.
