# Transfer your number from Fizz

What to prepare at Fizz before transferring your number.

- Role: Manager
- Duration: 25 min
- Learning Centre: https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/quitter-fizz

## Before you start

- Be the Fizz account holder.
- Access to your Fizz account.
- The phone with its Fizz SIM card, turned on, on the day of the transfer.

## Step by step

7 steps, about 25 min.

Screenshots show Callizy in French. Button names are given in English.

**At Fizz**

### 1. Find your account number (2 min)

It is used for the transfer, with the account holder’s name and the service address. Cannot find it in your Fizz account? Ask Fizz for it before you start.

### 2. A bill to provide (2 min)

Callizy asks for a bill showing the name, the address and the number to transfer. You do not have one with Fizz? Write to support@callizy.ca before you start.

### 3. Transfer PIN and IMEI (1 min)

For a cell phone, Canadian carriers ask for only one of these: the **account number**, the **account password or PIN**, or the phone’s **IMEI**. So the account number is enough. Fizz did not give you a transfer PIN? Leave the field blank in Callizy. For a landline, what counts is the account holder’s name and the service address: write them as on the bill.

### 4. Financed phone? Check your terms (5 min)

Is your phone financed with Fizz? Fees may apply under your terms: check them in your Fizz account or with Fizz. Otherwise, there are no fees to leave.

### 5. Keep the line active until the end (4 to 8 days)

Do not close your Fizz account before the transfer is complete. Keep the Fizz SIM card in the phone, turned on: a confirmation text arrives on this number on the day of the transfer. Reply within 90 minutes.

**In Callizy**

### 6. Do the transfer in Callizy (10 min)

With the account number and the bill, make the request in Callizy. Write “Fizz” in **Carrier**, then the name and address exactly as on the bill. Everything is explained in [Transfer your current number to Callizy](https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/transferer-son-numero).

**After the transfer**

### 7. Once the transfer is complete, close the old service (5 min)

Wait until Callizy writes to tell you the transfer is complete. Usually, the service for the transferred number is cancelled on its own. If the number still shows on your account, ask Fizz to remove it.

## Key points

- Do not close your Fizz account before the transfer is complete.
- The name, address and account number must be exactly those of your Fizz account.
- Reply to the confirmation text within 90 minutes.
- The transfer is free with Callizy.

## Not working?

### Fizz refuses the transfer

1. Compare the account holder’s name, the service address and the account number with those of your Fizz account, letter by letter.
2. Check that the number is still active with Fizz.
3. In Callizy, open the transfer in **Numbers** and click “Correct the request”: the request is sent again.

### Confirmation text not received

1. Check that the Fizz SIM card is in the phone, turned on, with a signal.
2. Without a reply within 90 minutes, the request is cancelled. Contact Fizz, then write to support@callizy.ca with the number concerned.
