# Secure your account

Passkey, Google sign-in or magic link.

- Role: Everyone
- Duration: 3 min
- On: Web, iPhone, Android
- Learning Centre: https://callizy.ca/en/apprendre/securiser-compte
- Open this screen in Callizy: https://app.callizy.ca/en/manager?view=profile

## Before you start

- A Callizy account.
- For a passkey: a computer or phone locked with a fingerprint, Face ID or a code.

## Step by step

5 steps, about 3 min.

Screenshots show Callizy in French. Button names are given in English.

### 1. Open your profile (10 s)

At the bottom left, click your name, then **My Profile**. Scroll down to **Passkeys**.

Menu: Your name › My Profile › Passkeys

### 2. Add a passkey (30 s)

Click **Add a passkey**. Give it a name, for example “Personal MacBook Pro”, then **Register passkey**. Your device asks for your fingerprint, Face ID or its code: the passkey is created.

### 3. Sign in with it (10 s)

On the sign-in page, click **Continue with a passkey**, then confirm with your fingerprint or Face ID. No password to type. In the iPhone or Android app, tap **Sign in with a passkey**: a window opens, confirm, and you’re back in the app, signed in.

### 4. Manage your passkeys (20 s)

Each passkey shows whether it is **Synced across devices** or **Bound to this device**, when it was added and when it was last used. Lost or sold a device? Click the trash icon on its passkey’s row, then **Delete**.

### 5. Change your password if needed (30 s)

In **Security**, just above, click **Change my password**: your current password, then the new one, at least 8 characters.

## Key points

- Four ways to sign in: password, Google, email code or passkey.
- With a passkey, nothing to remember or type, and never a verification code.
- An unusual sign-in on the web asks for a code: by text message to your verified cell phone, otherwise by email.

## Settings

- **Set up a passkey?**: After you sign in on the web, Callizy offers it as long as you have no passkey. **Activate** creates it right away; **Later** asks again in 30 days.
- **Continue with a magic link**: On the sign-in page, enter your email: you get a 6-digit code and a link. The link works from any device. In the apps, choose the email code.
- **Remember this browser for 30 days**: Check it when Callizy asks for a code: this browser won’t ask again for 30 days.
- **Forgot password?**: On the sign-in page, enter your email: a code arrives to choose a new password.

## Not working?

### Callizy shows “Unknown or revoked passkey”

1. The passkey was removed from your profile, or it belongs to another account.
2. Sign in another way, then add a new passkey in **My Profile**.

### Callizy shows “Passkey sign-in failed”

1. Your device’s window may have been closed: try again.
2. A passkey **Bound to this device** only works on it: elsewhere, sign in another way.

### Callizy shows “Could not register passkey”

1. Your device must be locked with a fingerprint, Face ID or a code.
2. Did you cancel your device’s prompt? Try again.

### Callizy shows “Verify your identity”

1. Your sign-in is out of the ordinary: an unknown device with a new country, a new province or more than 7 days without signing in, or several failed attempts in a row.
2. Enter the 6-digit code you got by text message or email.
3. Didn’t get it? **Resend**, **Get a call** or **Try another method**.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Callizy support passkeys?

Yes. Add one in **My Profile**, on the web, then use it to sign in on the web and in the iPhone and Android apps.

### Can I create a passkey in the iPhone or Android app?

It is created in **My Profile**, on the web. Synced across your devices, for example through iCloud Keychain or Google, it then works in the app.

### With a passkey, does Callizy ask me for a code?

No, never. The code only applies to the other ways of signing in, and only when the sign-in is out of the ordinary.

### Where does the verification code arrive?

By text message to the verified cell phone in your profile, otherwise by email. You can also ask for a call.
