To the United States
Start the application
10 sFrom a local number, texting Canada works right away. To text US numbers, click Register. Callizy fills in what it already knows about your business.
- 3
Describe the business
2 minBusiness step: Legal name, Business type, Federal business number (BN), Industry, Website, Business email and address. The BN has 9 digits; a Quebec NEQ alone is not accepted by carriers. A Gmail, Yahoo or Outlook address is often refused.
- 4
Name the representative
30 sRepresentative step: the person who answers for the business, owner, executive or manager. First name, Last name, Email, Phone and Title.
- 5
Describe your texts
2 minTexts step: check the Local numbers that will text the US. Choose What your texts are for, describe them in one or two sentences and give two samples, with “Reply STOP to opt out”. Finally, say How your customers give consent.
- 6
Send and pay
20 sClick Send and pay $27.00. Carrier fees are passed through at cost: $27 once on your card, then $3 per month on your subscription.
- 7
Follow the status
20 sThree rows: Your business (brand), Your texts (campaign) and STIR/SHAKEN, already Approved. The brand is reviewed first; the campaign is sent as soon as it is approved. Your texts to the US go out once the campaign is Approved.
- 8
From a toll-free number
Enable the number’s texting
3 minUnder Toll-free numbers, click Enable texting on the number’s row. Fill in Your business, Contact person and Your texts, then Send the application. It is free; each toll-free number has its own application. The same button is on the number’s page, in Numbers.
- 9
Wait for the answer
10 sCarriers answer within days, sometimes weeks. Meanwhile, the toll-free number can call, but no text goes out, not even to Canada.
